Alteen’s Jewellers Since 1949
Laurie Alteen, master Jeweller and watchmaker started Alteen’s Jewellers in 1949 in the town of Windsor but In 1958 decided to move to the town of Grand Falls where his business continues to operate today. Alteen’s reputation was built on personal service backed by quality merchandise. Many of us can remember purchasing our engagement or wedding rings at Alteen’s from either Jerry Beson or Ron Antle.
In 1977 Louis Alteen, Laurie’s son entered the business to learn the trade and today he continues to operate the family business. Louis or (Lou) as he is called inherited his father’s knowledge for operating a successful jewellery business. Over the years Lou has made many changes to meet the challenges of the changing markets, Improving and adding services in jewellery and watch repairs, laser engraving, online shopping, custom jewellery work and special orders. Lou also finds the time for community volunteer work and is involved in YMCA, The Chamber of Commerce, Lodge Northcliffe and the Anglican Church and supports many fund-raising projects through donations of merchandise.
