Welcome to Badger

The Town of Badger is a community located in the Central region of Newfoundland & Labrador which was incorporated in September, 1963. Badger is situated on the banks of three well-known bodies of water; Badger Brook, Little Red Indian River and the Exploits River. Today the community is home to six hundred and eighty residents. The town has a number of community organizations that take part in community events throughout the year. We have local businesses that provide excellent accommodations and services. Come visit our community and enjoy the peacefulness of the river and meet our residents.

The Town of Badger has long been synonymous with the logging industry in Newfoundland and has been immortalized in such folk songs as the “Badger Drive” which was written by John Valentine Devine. The Canadian National Railway which employed many residents during its time of operation also played an integral role in the development of our unique community.

Things to See

The Town of Badger is accessible by the Trans Canada Trailway. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing drive to our community via the railbed by ATV.
